An artful approach to the workplace, with beauty and inspiration on every level.

Work life,
made vibrant.

In our initial brand and positioning exercises for 9000 Wilshire, it became clear that this was more than an office building - it was, in many ways, an art piece. In its architecture and level of craftsmanship, it seemed right to elevate the work experience there as well. And that is where Work as Art found its place as the project tagline. Thoughtful and bold design, brighter amenity experiences and rich cultural influences all contribute to a workplace that redefines best-in-class.

A bright new day.

Though it can be easy to jump to a more serious visual language in office branding, we found that big colors and bold typography were actually the most effective way to convey the artful nature of 9000 Wilshire. Optimistic, creative, inspiring - all traits that are intrinsic to the spirit of the building itself.

Work as Art.

In keeping with the team’s art goals and the public art opportunity that the project location offered, the client was able to select a fine artist to create a large scale piece on the building itself. In selecting California-based artist Heather Day, a perfect match was made. Her encompassing murals, large canvases, and intimate drawings study the mechanisms of sensory perception — mining what happens when the body interprets a sound as a texture, or a scent as a color. Her integration of color, movement and technology is one of the most dynamic aspects of the entire project.

Dynamic sustainability,
holistic wellness.

We worked with the project team to enrich the story surrounding 9000 Wilshire’s sustainable construction, design innovation and building performance integration. All these speak to a foundation of intelligent efficiency – and a commitment to local and global ecologies. What tech can’t do, botany can. With generously landscaped outdoor terraces and rooftop deck, there are plenty of places where you can collaborate and connect with nature throughout the day.
